It is an interesting statement (We are the Earth) and it was the concept that propelled Murray Bast into the next 30 years of discovering what was to become the foundation of organic farming. It wasn’t easy being a forerunner in organic farming 30 years ago. People thought he was crazy but that didn’t stop him. What he learned has become an important part of organic farming world-wide. Murray Bast is a forerunner and this is his story.

No one would imagine that many of the rights and privileges we have enjoyed as citizen for hundreds of years could be taken away in one inconspicuous business law - but they were. Article 32 of the Business Arbitration Act made it possible for Sharia Law and laws from other countries and groups to effectively replace the Family Law Act of Ontario. Most people were completely unaware of the coup that had taken place - except for a few passionate advocates who exposed the injustice of this bad law. They fought political reluctance, disinformation and opposition from many fronts - just because it was right. Robert Simpson and Homa Arjimond fought “City Hall and won”. They are forerunners and this is their story.

1. Reach Out and Touch Someone!

Professor David Wang from the University of Waterloo had a dream……in the early 90’s he began exploring the possibility of transmitting a handshake over the internet with his students. The things that they discovered fanned the flame of passion to develop “touch in a virtual reality” and that lead to the founding of Handshake VR Ltd. David Wang and his colleagues believed they could reach out and touch someone over the Internet and because they did they are doing it - they are forerunners and this is their story.
