No one would imagine that many of the rights and privileges we have enjoyed as citizen for hundreds of years could be taken away in one inconspicuous business law - but they were. Article 32 of the Business Arbitration Act made it possible for Sharia Law and laws from other countries and groups to effectively replace the Family Law Act of Ontario. Most people were completely unaware of the coup that had taken place - except for a few passionate advocates who exposed the injustice of this bad law. They fought political reluctance, disinformation and opposition from many fronts - just because it was right. Robert Simpson and Homa Arjimond fought “City Hall and won”. They are forerunners and this is their story.
